SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA/COPENHAGEN, January 19, 2015–Worldwide Broker Network™, the world’s largest fully integrated network of independent property and casualty brokers and employee benefits consultants, will kick off 2015 with nearly 100 members from 36 firms from 25 countries across Europe gathering in Copenhagen for their annual 2-day regional conference.
The Conference’s welcoming address will be delivered by Eva Madsen, a member of WBN’s Global Board of Directors and chief executive officer and owner of conference host Ensure International Insurance Brokers of Aarhus, Denmark. Held at Copenhagen’s Bella Center, portions of the conference are being underwritten by gold sponsor QBE Insurance Group Limited and by AIG.
Among the highlights of the working meetings will be the introduction of WBNet 3.0, the new iteration of WBN’s proprietary technology platform, first developed by Vertafore 8 years ago. The user-friendly, permissions-based system, reengineered for WBN by Origami Risk, provides easy-to-use, layered access in multiple currencies for uniform reporting and communications between WBN member teams and their international clients. The platform is scheduled to become operational in the second quarter of 2015.
“WBN’s European Regional Group meets annually as a subset to the Network’s two Global Conferences each year. Together, these working sessions further strengthen the cross-border relationships that provide clients with local expertise and services to meet global needs. We are delighted that Denmark has the opportunity to host the regional conference this year,” Madsen said.
Other working sessions will include: innovations of new property & casualty products, aviation and superyacht offerings, healthcare trends in Europe, employee benefits case studies, and country-specific issues. Members will also develop plans for WBN’s presence at the FERMA Risk Management Forum, the biannual gathering which will draw approximately 1500 risk professionals from across the globe to Venice, Italy in October
Beginning as the International Broker Network with just 9 European members in 1989, WBN today has 100 member firms in 101 countries and territories on six continents, with offices in all major cities across the globe providing a full range of commercial insurance products and employee benefits consulting services.
